LIFE HACK

Transform your home

Create and share your boards

Minimalist or maximalist? Modern or traditional? Pinterest is packed with ideas to suit every home styling preference. Find a new piece of furniture, colour scheme suggestions, renter-friendly hacks that won’t upset your landlord and inspiration for all things interior design related.

Ready to spruce up your space? Search Pinterest to find content relating to specific rooms or styles. The more detailed your search, the more tailored the results will be, so go for precise descriptions such as “store cupboard organisation ideas”.

The results will bring up suggested profiles to explore, run by top designers and bloggers, and a stream of images and videos to scroll through. Tap an image then hit Visit to head to the blog or website on which the picture originated, or share your feedback by adding a comment.

Like the look of that navy velvet corner sofa? Add it to your own Pinterest mood board by tapping Save or hard pressing the image and tapping the pin icon. You can save it to a board you’ve already created or make a new one. These can be revisited via your profile.

Boards can be as specific as you’d like. Choose to create one for each room, for furniture or just for great lifestyle ideas you’ve stumbled across. There are lots of ways to organise each board – you can reorder pins, add notes, invite collaborators, merge boards and archive them. You can also tap More Ideas on each one to keep the inspiration coming.

If you’ve fallen in love with the idea of adding, say, a gallery wall to your home but have no idea how to start sourcing the right frames for it, Pinterest can help.

As well as providing inspiration for your interiors, the app contains shoppable posts from well-known brands, so you can purchase the exact pieces you find in your feed, or similar ones.

Shop via the Search tab or head to Home to discover tagged posts based on your boards. Products in tagged posts can be found by tapping the tag icon – so any fancy accessories you spy and wish you owned can be yours in an instant.
