It’s fitting that Porta Nubi is set among the clouds: solving its atmospheric puzzles makes you feel like a light-wielding superhero.– App Store Editors

The goal of Porta Nubi is simple: guide a beam of light from point A to point B. But how you do it is pure spatial-computing magic.
You start by steering a single beam, but before long, you’re bouncing multiple rays across mirrors, portals and optical contraptions. Pitch-perfect controls keep you in the flow, whether you’re pinching to rotate your view or spreading your hands to zoom in for a closer look.
But what truly sets Porta Nubi apart is the way it invites you inside its puzzles, immersing you in its gorgeous blue skies.
Dive inside the clouds to manipulate the light from within – grabbing a beam with one hand and projecting it from the other like the energy is coursing through your body. Where most puzzlers keep you at a distance, Porta Nubi makes you part of the puzzle itself.
A game that makes you feel not only clever but powerful? Believe it. By the time we were flinging coloured rays through Porta Nubi’s floating portals, we felt like the rulers of a sky-high world.

Quick tip
Study each puzzle from multiple angles before diving in. If the first step is unclear, try taking a look from above and below. New pathways may reveal themselves.
Fun fact
In Latin, the phrase porta nubi means “cloud gate” – an apt description of the game’s ethereal puzzle pieces.
Meet the creator
Inspired by unconventional puzzle games such as Blackbox and Portal, Austria-based developer Michael Temper set out to build one himself. “I had the idea of bringing light to darkness by guiding sunlight,” he says. “Clouds came up as a perfect way of guiding the sunlight around, like sitting in the clouds as some kind of mystical being who can control the light.”
