What we love: How much info Mercury Weather packs into its main view without overwhelming you with numbers. The hourly forecasts show temperature trends for the rest of the day, as well as sunrise and sunset times down to the minute. Touch and hold any hour for humidity, wind speed and more stats. And the app’s gradient backgrounds aren’t just for show – they’re an instant read on current conditions. (If the screen glows orange, it’s time to find some shade.)

Quick tip: Have an upcoming trip? Mercury Weather’s Trip Forecast feature shows what the weather will be at your destination when you arrive. Just tap the globe icon on the upper-right corner, select “Add a Trip”, then choose a location and date range.

Meet the creator: Kai Dombrowski and Malin Sundberg of Triple Glazed Studios created Mercury Weather “to show the right amount of information, at the right time, without clutter,” Dombrowski says. The couple designs and develops every aspect of the app, including icons, animations and data logic.
