GAMES WE LOVE

Delete After Reading

Outwit destiny in an ingenious interactive story.

Bad news: It’s the worst day of your life. Good news: It’s about to get better! Or at least stranger. Moments into the fascinating Delete After Reading, you’re tumbling through an outrageous quest to reclaim the sole copy of a mythical videogame. Conveyed as a diary full of interactive text and images, this supernatural-tinged adventure turns words into keys and hides hidden messages in old televisions. Get ready to get weird!

What we love: Never knowing what’s next. One minute, you’re exploring a secret stairway behind your bedroom closet; the next, a century-old ghost has opened a locked office. And wait till you see all the wild secrets inside the mansion of the millionaire hoarding that long-lost videogame…

Press buttons in the right order and your pet robot will dispense vital hints.

Quick tip: Clues-within-clues pop up often, so fully explore every object. Check the back of photos and documents, peer through peepholes multiple times and inspect objects in your Ghost Detector’s scanner mode. Persistence pays off!

Meet the creator: The team members at indie developer Patrones y Escondites strive to be “storytelling explorers” who push the boundaries of videogame narratives, mechanics and aesthetics. Based in Barcelona, they also crafted Unmemory, a novella packed with clever interactive puzzles.
