Today, all industries and businesses face the risk of cybercrime, phishing attacks and other cyber scams. We have become aware of fraudulent job postings, with those advertising pretending to be acting on behalf of VTU. Cyber-related online scams like this are becoming more complex, with the main scam posts often being accompanied by fake social media, fake email accounts, fake signatures from senior company officials, in an attempt to add legitimacy to the fake job post. Scammer will often lead the candidate to believe they have been successful in their application, and will then ask candidates to make a payment, share bank details, or authorise some form of upfront payment before their successful application can be processed.
