We’re excited to announce the start of construction on the Pelican Point Battery Energy Storage System (PPBESS)! This is a major milestone for ENGIE and another step forward in Australia’s energy transition. Located alongside the Pelican Point Power Station in South Australia, PPBESS is a grid-forming battery that will provide backup power during outages and add the flexibility and resilience needed to integrate more clean energy into the grid. A huge thank you to our teams and partners for making this milestone possible. 🔗 Find out more: https://lnkd.in/grwcni-6 Elecnor Australia , ElectraNet Pty Ltd , Sungrow Power Supply Co., Ltd., Grid-Link #BESS #ENGIE #WithENGIE

Great to see the energy sector coming together at the Australian Energy Council’s first Connects Event! Collaboration and insight like this are key to driving a sustainable and affordable energy future for Australia.
Last week, the Australian Energy Council held its first Connects Event, bringing together leaders from across the energy sector for an evening of insight, discussion and connection. Coinciding with the release of the AEC's CEO Survey Report, Delivering Australia’s Energy Transition Affordably, the event provided a timely opportunity to unpack how industry leaders are viewing Australia’s energy transition, from affordability pressures and investment challenges to the policy decisions shaping the path ahead. A big thank you to our panel: 🔹 Shannon Hyde, CEO, ENGIE AU & NZ 🔹 Mark Collette, Managing Director, EnergyAustralia 🔹 Nick Maher, Partner, SEC Newgate Australia And to Louisa Kinnear, AEC Chief Executive, for leading a thoughtful and engaging discussion. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make our inaugural event such a success. We look forward to bringing the sector together again at future AEC Connects events.

It was incredibly rewarding to host Learning for Life students at our first Work Inspiration program - exploring renewables, marketing for clean energy, and discovering diverse career pathways. A big thank you to The Smith Family, Shannon Hyde, and all our amazing volunteers who made this possible! #WorkInspiration #LearningForLife #ENGIE
ENGIE AU welcomed students from our Learning for Life program to their first Work Inspiration event recently – a two-day experience designed to spark curiosity, build confidence, and open doors to careers in a wide range of industries. “I haven’t decided exactly what I want to focus on when I leave school yet, but this program has made us all feel really supported in whatever we want to pursue. Being able to speak to people about what they do and how they got there has made everyone feel a little more confident about the different pathways open to us when we leave school,” reflected one of the students. “It’s a great opportunity to learn about work and careers,” said another. ENGIE CEO Shannon Hyde, a former Learning for Life student himself, shared, “I love the term Work Inspiration, because I believe it has real meaning in terms of providing real-life experience. It was great to give the students a behind-the-scenes look at ENGIE and the clean energy industry, and to show them how diverse and exciting this sector really is.” At ENGIE’s event, students explored the future of renewables, collaborated on a marketing campaign for clean energy, and heard from professionals like Shannon about the power of education and opportunity.

Australia’s battery boom is rewriting the energy playbook. The recent rebate has triggered a surge in installations, pushing the market to its limits and reshaping consumer expectations. At ENGIE, we’ve seen firsthand how policy can catalyse transformation. The Federal Government’s battery rebate has flipped the market - what was once a slow burn is now a full-blown wave of demand. Batteries are in high demand, and consumers are more informed and engaged than ever. Our own Ryan Wavish commented on this at this week’s All Energy Australia Conference, ‘We now need to explore how this change will impact energy markets. How will it impact other assets on the grid? And how do we make the most of this in supporting our customers to get more value out of their battery systems?” It’s a challenge, but also a huge opportunity to support our customers and accelerate the transition to smarter, cleaner energy.
