Agricultural Advisory Board
In accordance with Section 6.12 of the Texas Property Tax Code, an Agricultural Advisory Board (AG Board) shall be appointed by the Chief Appraiser with the advice and consent of the Board of Directors. The AG Board shall advise the Chief Appraiser on the valuation and use of the land that may be designated for agricultural use or that may be open-space agricultural or timber land within the district.
Members of the AG Board must own land that qualifies for appraisal for land designated for agricultural use, agricultural land, timber land, or restricted-use timber land. Members serve staggered two-year terms and meet at least once a year.
