Equipment is being assembled at Utah Fabrication Inc for the Sulfuric Acid Plant. From inside the structure, Matt Karins, LAC's Sulfuric Acid Plant Manager, inspects the transition piece that will be installed once it arrives at Thacker Pass. We're proud to strengthen regional, domestic partnerships while advancing our project by sourcing this critical equipment from our neighbors in Utah. $LAC #lithium #Nevada

We're excited the sulfuric acid towers at the Thacker Pass processing plant are going vertical. These towers are an essential part of our lithium production process and a key part of our energy strategy. Converting sulfur to sulfuric acid on-site is expected to reduce delivery truck traffic, reduce emissions and lower our environmental footprint. The waste heat captured at this facility will generate carbon-free energy to power operations. Combined with hydropower from the Bonneville Power Administration, we're building a cleaner path to domestic lithium production. In 2024, our Tech Center team optimized the leaching process, reducing sulfuric acid needs by 25% while maintaining the same nominal 40,000 tonnes per year of battery-grade lithium carbonate production capacity (Dec 2024 Technical Report vs. Nov 2023 Feasibility Study). Less sulfur also means a smaller plant footprint. Learn more about Thacker Pass: https://lnkd.in/gK6x3yn5 $LAC #Nevada #Lithium #DomesticEnergy

Congratulations to two of our local Nevada suppliers for being recognized with Bechtel Corporation's 2025 Global Supply Chain Awards! Western Nevada Supply and Hunewill Construction, both headquartered in northern Nevada, were honored for their excellence and collaboration on Bechtel projects around the world, including Thacker Pass. Western Nevada Supply, which opened in Sparks, NV 64 years ago, has been supporting construction at Thacker Pass, from the initial 7-mile water pipeline to daily material needs. “This is in our backyard, this is affecting our day-to-day lives. So it's nice to see that the people in the community are benefiting,” said Mike White, Winnemucca Branch Manager. Their commitment reflects the broader impact Thacker Pass is having across northern Nevada: creating jobs, supporting local businesses and strengthening communities. LAC's President and CEO, Jonathan Evans, testified at the U.S. House of Representatives Select Committee on the CCP hearing focused on how the Chinese Communist Party manipulates global mineral prices to maintain dominance in critical supply chains, including lithium. His message: Onshoring U.S. lithium production isn't optional—it's essential to national security. "The United States pioneered lithium-ion battery technology, yet now risks ceding control of the next great energy revolution to China," Mr. Evans told the Committee. "By investing in domestic mining, refining and battery manufacturing, the U.S. can reduce strategic vulnerabilities, safeguard national security and create high-quality American jobs."
