NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Henderson, Nevada, a municipal corporation and political subdivision of the State of Nevada ("City"), will hold a public hearing on the proposed annexation of approximately 192.94 acres of BLM land adjacent to the western boundary of the City, located in portions of Sections 8, 17, 20, 30 and 31, Township 23 South, Range 61 East, M.D.M. and Section 36, Township 23 South, Range 60 East, M.D.M. The property consists of all remaining BLM land between the western boundary of the City and I-15, from St. Rose Parkway to the Southern boundary of the City, including adjacent dedicated public right-of-way. The areas proposed to be annexed are more particularly described on the attached Exhibit "A".
The public hearing will be held January 6, 2026, at 4:00 P.M., or as soon after such time as practical, in the City Council Chambers, 240 Water Street, Henderson, Nevada 89015.
A report entitled "192.94 Acres Adjacent to the Western Boundary of the City, Annexation Report November 18, 2025" setting forth the plans to provide services to the territory proposed to be annexed, as required by NRS 268.578, will be filed with the City Clerk and available at the City Clerk's office at least twenty (20) days before the date of the public hearing, pursuant to NRS 268.586.
Pursuant to NRS 268.586, any record owner of real property within the territory proposed to be annexed may (a) appear and be heard at the public hearing; and/or (b) file with the City Clerk, a written protest to the annexation at any time within 15 days after the conclusion of the public hearing. Unless a majority of the property owners in the territory proposed to be annexed protest the annexation, either orally at the public hearing or in writing within 15 days after the conclusion of the public hearing, the City Council may adopt an ordinance extending the corporate limits of the City to include all, or any part, of the territory described in this notice.
