Save to Day One from your browser.
Quickly capture links, highlights, and notes to your journal with our browser extensions for Chrome, Firefox, and Safari.

Save pages in one click.
Whether you’re researching, bookmarking, or saving a moment of inspiration, the Day One extension makes it easy to send content from the web straight to your journal.

Highlight and save text.
Select any text on a webpage, right-click, and choose Save to Day One. Your selected text will be saved as a new journal entry with the source link.

Stay organized automatically.
The first time you use the extension, Day One creates a Bookmarks journal so your saved pages and highlights stay separate from personal entries (unless you choose otherwise).

Add context with notes and tags.
Include a quick note or custom tags to help you find entries later by topic, theme, or project.
Private by design.
Like everything in Day One, anything saved through the extension is end-to-end encrypted, stored securely in your account, and synced across your devices.

What are some ideas for how to use the Day One browser extension?
Many people keep a dedicated Bookmarks journal for saved articles, research, and inspiration. You can also save quotes, highlights, and notes alongside your daily journal to revisit later.

Can I add notes or tags when saving?
Absolutely. You can include a quick note or custom tags before saving so your entries are easier to find later.
Does this work on mobile?
The Chrome and Firefox extensions are designed for desktop browsers. On mobile, you can use your browser’s share menu to send links and text to Day One, or use the Email to Journal feature to capture web content.
