Stupidly I have been having to use my bathtub in an unfinished bathroom. Bottom 1/3 was pulled on Kerdi board for plumbing issue plus fixing a hole on the vent stack. Ignore the framing, non load bearing and it’s been like this since last person touched it maybe 10 years ago…

Then time got away from me and I’ve been using the tub 1 x a day for a few weeks.

I’m sure some steam was going up into the wall but not sure if it’s now worth it to pull off the whole Kerdi board and insulation to check for any moisture damage? Or just seal it back up?

Have been running bathroom fan and usually have window open, not sure if 23 hours between use would be enough to dry out any little bit of moisture making its way to that attic top plate.enter image description hereenter image description here

  • No one's going to be able to tell from here how much moisture is in your wall. Either get a moisture meter or stop using the tub and run a fan for a couple days before continuing the project. Commented yesterday
  • Pictures look to show things are mold and mildew free. However as others have said, we cannot tell the moisture content from a picture. It is probably ok, but get a meter. They are not expensive. If the number is under 8% you are clear to move on and close up the wall. Commented yesterday
  • I highly suspect the other 23.5 hours of drying off will easily counter your 30 minutes of using the tub. Commented yesterday
