This week, we successfully carried out the joint validation exercise of the SESAR 3 HARMONIC Project and the SESAR 3 ISLAND Project at Indra’s facilities in Madrid, together with NATS. Throughout the sessions, we worked with controllers to validate key operational concepts from both solutions, using EUROCONTROL's INNOVE platform to generate the traffic samples needed for the scenarios. 🔹 HARMONIC → focused on how Dynamic Mobile Areas (DMAs) can support more efficient demand–capacity balancing in busy airspace. 🔹 ISLAND → evaluated the Dynamic Airspace Configuration (DAC) feature, exploring how flexible vertical sectorisation can improve capacity distribution and overall network performance. Both of these features were developed and tested in Indra's proprietary ATFCM tool, the #iACM. The exercise allowed us to assess the behaviour of both solutions in realistic, high-fidelity environments and gather valuable feedback from operational experts. It has been a productive and collaborative week, strengthening alignment across teams and advancing the development of these SESAR concepts. A huge thank you to NATS, EUROCONTROL, and all the teams at Indra — engineering, project, software, and integration — for their commitment and excellent teamwork throughout the validation. ✈️ Moving forward together towards a more efficient, resilient, and innovative future for European ATM. This work has received funding from the Swiss State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI). UK participant NATS in HARMONIC receives funding from UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) under the UK government’s Horizon Europe funding guarantee [grant number 10091990]. #Indra #ATM #NATS #SESAR #DigitalSky #Capacity #HorizonEU
