Sending Transactional Emails in AJO Without Enforcing Consent Flags

Hi everyone,

I am working on a use case in Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO) and need some clarification around consent enforcement for transactional emails.

Use Case: We want to send transactional emails (e.g., purchase confirmations) to all guests who have completed a transaction and for whom we have valid email addresses. These emails are service-related and not promotional. However, some of these guests may not have explicitly opted in to receive email communications.

Question: Is it possible to configure AJO to send transactional emails without enforcing the consent flag—i.e., to send emails to all transacting guests with email addresses, regardless of their marketing consent status?

Additional Context:

  • The emails will contain transaction-specific details.
  • We are not using these emails for marketing purposes.
  • We want to ensure compliance with Adobe’s consent policies and best practices.

If anyone has experience with this setup or can share some configuration tips, I would really appreciate it!

Thanks in advance.
