Two long years after becoming the second-ever band to play Las Vegas, NV’s Sphere, Phish has announced its return to the high-tech venue for a nine-show residency in 2026. The nine shows will be spread across three separate Thursday–Saturday weekend runs in late April and early May.
A ticket request period for the 2026 return of Phish to the Sphere is currently underway here and will run until Monday, December 8th at 9:00 a.m. PT/12:00 p.m. ET. Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Friday, December 12th at 11:00 a.m. PT / 2:00 p.m. ET via Ticketmaster. Phish made history back in April 2024 as the second act to take the Sphere stage. After U2 staged a 40-show opening residency, Phish performed just four shows at the venue—which still stands as the shortest Sphere engagement to date. The quartet, which won the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s fan vote in 2025, was also the first (and remains the only) band to offer livestreams of its Sphere shows—a fact appreciated by fans at home, as each night featured unique setlists and one-and-done visuals.
As the initial Phish Sphere run unfolded, the visual canvas the unique venue provides became increasingly involved in fans’ guesses about the mystery theme that guitarist Trey Anastasio and Sphere show director/co-creative director Abigail Rose-Holmes teased in a pre-run Washington Post interview. A lot of folks took some big swings and big misses (us included), but once the dust settled, it became clear that the run’s thematic thread was the “states of matter.” Thursday was “solids,” Friday was “liquids,” Saturday was “gases,” and the big finale on Sunday was based around “plasma.”
Since Phish played Sphere in 2024, the immersive Las Vegas venue has hosted residencies by Dead & Company, Eagles, Anyma, Kenny Chesney, and Backstreet Boys. Eagles recently surpassed Dead & Company to take the record for most Sphere shows overall, with the band’s 53rd–56th shows scheduled through March 2026. Next year will also see the venue host residencies by Zac Brown Band, Illenium, No Doubt, Mexican singer-songwriter Carín León, and additional dates by Chesney and Backstreet Boys.
