Free things to do in Las Vegas this week

Walking the Las Vegas Strip, you can people-watch, check out the Fountains of Bellagio or their Conservatory & Botanical Gardens, free circus acts at Circus Circus’ Midway, and a slew of other free experiences.

Here are a few free events and experiences happening the week of Nov. 28-Dec. 4:

Downtown Hoedown

The National Finals Rodeo official kickoff party under the canopy will feature performances by Midland, Corey Kent, Josh Ross, Mackenzie Carpenter and more, starting at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday. vegasexperience.com

WinterFest

The city of Henderson’s two-day holiday festival opens with a tree lighting, drone show, music and more, 5-7:30 p.m. Thursday at Water Street Plaza, 240 S. Water St., Henderson, free. cityofhenderson.com

Mystic Falls Park

The free attraction features a nine-minute laser show with classic holiday songs, animated teddy bears and more than 26,000 lights on display through Jan. 1. The attraction’s light show runs hourly from 4 to 10 p.m. Visits with Santa are 11 to 7 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays through Dec. 21. samstownlv.com

Free skate

Families and all ages can ice skate 4-6 p.m. Thursday at America First Center, 222 Water St., Henderson. The event includes admission and skate rentals with registration. cityofhenderson.com

Miss Rodeo Horsemanship Event

Thirty state rodeo queens will test their horsemanship skills against one another at 8 a.m. Tuesday at the South Point Arena, free. southpointarena.com

Western Gift Show

Featuring vendors, Western apparel, jewelry and more, 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Tuesday through Dec. 14 at South Point Exhibit Hall, free admission. southpointarena.com

Cowboy Marketplace

Featuring exhibitors, entertainment and more, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday through Dec. 13 at the Horseshoe Las Vegas, free admission. cowboymarketplace.vegas

Country Christmas
