⚠️ With EFRAG submitting its technical advice on the revised European Sustainability Reporting Standards, as part of the ongoing #EUomnibus to simplify the #CSRD, we are encouraged to see several improvements on the exposure draft, including 👉 ✅ Explicit mention added on the use of both GRI Topic and Sector Standards as a reliable disclosure source, which will support companies to use #GRIreporting to fill ESRS gaps. ✅ The explanation of impact materiality is clearer, and language on how to define the materiality of information is more closely aligned with the #GRIStandards - helping users make informed assessments & decisions about impacts. ✅ Guidance on the approach to ‘gross versus net’ impacts has been significantly simplified, with recognition that even impacts that are effectively managed may need to be disclosed. 🤝 Maintaining a continued high degree of interoperability between the GRI Standards and #ESRS will reduce the burden for companies while increasing the global relevance and comparability of #sustainabilityreporting.
