When Mike Khalesi of Beverly Hills One set out to design this Silicon Valley mansion, he looked to Anahid, the ancient Persian goddess of purity, water, and light, for inspiration. His goal: to craft a dramatic but tranquil property that reflects “her symbolism of beauty, healing, and the life-giving forces that nurture creation and enduring bonds.”
The result of his effort is a contemporary mansion rife with natural elements, from elaborate water features to living plant walls. Completed this year, Villa Anahid just hit the market for $57.5 million, officially making it the most expensive residence for sale in the affluent enclave of Atherton, the nation’s second most expensive ZIP code.
If the place goes for anywhere near the current ask, it will easily rank as the Bay Area Peninsula town’s priciest home ever sold, eclipsing the $52 million transfer this past spring of a two-acre estate owned by tech exec Stephen Luczo and his wife Agatha Relota Luczo, a model and founder of the Furtuna skincare brand.

The seller, an unnamed LLC, bought the property in 2020 for $4.5 million, according to PropertyShark, then razed a smaller midcentury home on the site where the new mansion now stands. The palatial spread has five bedrooms and eight baths in roughly 12,000 square feet across three levels boasting Italian white oak floors, Shinoki wood cabinetry, and marble, travertine, and onyx imported from Italy, plus an array of smart-home capabilities.
A grand entryway adorned with reflecting pools and an illuminated 18-foot waterfall introduces more than an acre of grounds laced with oak and eucalyptus trees. Once inside the custom pivoting oak and walnut front door, the open floor plan is highlighted by a sculptural floating staircase, as well as a welcome lounge featuring a linear fireplace embedded in a travertine wall, a climate-controlled wine display, a living plant wall, and a movie theater with French leather seating for nine.
Upstairs is a combined living and dining room with a two-way fireplace and automated walls of retractable glass, along with a family room, two Miele-equipped kitchens (one for a private chef), and a fitness center with a Himalayan salt wall sauna and a steam room. The topmost level, meanwhile, holds a plush primary suite flaunting a private terrace, a showroom-style closet, and a backlit onyx bath. There’s also a separate lounge with a mini-bar and three built-in workstations, not to mention access to a two-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath ADU with its own kitchen.
Not to be left out are the outdoor environs, which host a 56-foot pool with a spa and Baja shelf, a barbecue setup, and another living wall, and topping it all off is an attached four-car tandem garage with five EV charging outlets.
The listing is held by Mary and Brent Gullixson of Compass, who sold venture capitalist Marc Andreessen’s nearby 94027 estate earlier this year for $27 million after it initially hit the market for $33 million. Villa Anahid is also on the same street where former Google CEO Eric Schmidt transferred his home to a new owner last year for $22.5 million (it was first up for sale at $24.5 million).
