  • If available, press and hold the voice command button on your steering wheel until Gemini activates
Then, say what you want Gemini to help you with. For example, try saying, “Hey Google, call Mom” or “start my commute playlist.” Gemini can also help with more complex tasks. Try asking, “Hey Google, find a supercharger near a sushi restaurant that’s open now.”

Using Gemini for Android Auto with children

When you use Gemini with Android Auto, Gemini is available to anyone in the vehicle, including children. This means that children in the vehicle may hear content that may be age inappropriate.

Gemini is conversational and can feel like a human. It’s important to remind any children in the vehicle that Gemini is an AI tool, not a person. Learn more about guiding your child’s Gemini Apps experience.

Gemini in Android Auto is new and evolving, and can hallucinate and present inaccurate information as factual so should not be relied on for critical information or safety-related matters while operating the vehicle.
