Generate & edit images with Gemini Apps

You can create captivating images in seconds with Nano Banana and Nano Banana Pro. From work, play, or anything in between, Gemini Apps can help you generate and refine images to help bring your imagination to life.

Gemini offers two options for image generation:

• Nano Banana Pro: This is Gemini's advanced image generation model, offering significant enhancements in quality, editing capabilities, and precise control.
• Nano Banana: This is Gemini’s powerful and efficient image model designed for quick, casual, everyday use and is available to all users.

Tip: As a Gemini 3 model, Nano Banana Pro generations may be limited by your Gemini 3 Pro quotas. If you reach your daily Gemini 3 Pro quota, you won't be able to generate Nano Banana Pro images until your quota resets.

• Enhanced world knowledge: Create diagrams and infographics with more accurate information

• Combining Photos: Seamlessly blend multiple photos in a single prompt (for best results for images of people, upload up to 5).
• Higher Resolution: Images are previewed at 1k resolution and downloaded at 2k resolution.

Tip: Nano Banana Pro is the best choice for advanced outputs and precise control. 

• Character Consistency: Nano Banana can maintain the look of a person or character across various generated images.
• Local Edits: Making quick and specific changes to parts of an image.

Tip: Nano Banana is ideal to create personalized images such as when you want to view yourself with different hairstyles, picture yourself in different scenes or create memes.

What you need

• This feature’s availability in any specific Gemini app is also limited to the supported languages and countries of that app.
• For now, this feature isn’t available to users under 13 (or the applicable age in your country). If you are signed in to a school account, you must be 18 or over.

1. On your computer, go to gemini.google.com.
2. Click Create image.
   • To use Nano Banana, select "Fast" from the model menu
   • To use Nano Banana Pro, select "Thinking" from the model menu.
3. Enter your prompt to generate an image. Check tips for image generation prompts.

• Create an image of a dog riding a surfboard
• Create an image of a jungle with a river in a splashy watercolor style

With Nano Banana, the world's most powerful image editing and generation model, there are a few ways that you can edit images. For example, you can:

• Edit an image that you generated in Gemini Apps.
• Upload an image and ask Gemini to make edits.
• Upload multiple images and ask Gemini to create a new image based on your uploaded images.

2. In the text box at the bottom, enter your prompt.
   • Tip: You can upload an image to edit or ask Gemini to edit a generated image.
3. Click Submit .

To download an image, hover over the image you want to download, and click Download full size

• Start your prompt with words like draw, generate, and create.
• Describe the image style you want. Here are a few examples: photorealistic, charcoal drawing, watercolor painting, cartoon illustration.
• Include a detailed visual description of what you want in the image. This can include the subject of the image, what the subject is doing, and the background or setting.
