Hong Jang Won, known for his comedic channel online, has recently made a shocking confession to the public. The star recently took to his social media platform in order to confess that he has been involved in a DUI case. Read on to find out more about the case.

Hong Jang Won confesses to his DUI case

On August 18, Hong Jang Won shared a handwritten apology note with the public. In it, he admitted that he was involved in a DUI case recently. Not only that, but after posting the apology online, he also ended up deleting his channel as well, which had around 700,000 subscribers.
His confession note read, “I have committed a serious crime, and on top of that, I committed an even greater wrong by revealing it so late, only now. On June 28, I was caught during a sobriety check near my home with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.065%”.He continued in his letter, sharing that he understands that there is no justification to what he did, and that he is highly regretful of his actions. This also marks his second DUI. While mentioning his first offence in 2006, the comedian continued in his post saying, “I already faced license suspension and a fine in 2006. Back then I was too immature to grasp the seriousness of the crime, and I failed to reflect properly, which is why I’ve now repeated the same offense”.He also called himself words like “cowardly” and “foolish” and also added on about how much he regrets not coming clean sooner, and acting like everything was fine over the past 50 days since the incident took place.

Hong Jang Won shares that he will take full responsibility

Expressing remorse over his actions, the comedian also shared that he will be taking full responsibility for his actions. In his letter, he added that any profit that he earned from his channel in the last 50 days, ever since the incident, will be returned to the original source. Not only that, but the star also stated that until further notice, in order to reflect on his actions and atone for his mistakes, he will be stopping all public activities and will be suspending his broadcast as well.
