🛰️ Our Azalea™ radio frequency satellites, designed and built in the UK, have been successfully launched into low Earth orbit, marking a crucial milestone in our self-funded mission. Flying in formation, the satellites will use their ultra-wideband radio frequency sensors to monitor and geolocate radio signals on Earth to deliver a powerful layer of information directly to decision-makers across air, land and sea. They are joined by a Synthetic Aperture Radar satellite from ICEYE creating a cluster of four satellites with advanced multi-sensing capabilities. The UK Government has announced an agreement with the Republic of Türkiye for the purchase of 20 Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft, sustaining more than 20,000 highly skilled jobs across the UK supply chain. The agreement, worth £5.4bn, includes an associated weapons, equipment and integration package and means the Turkish Air Force will become the tenth air force to operate Typhoon, strengthening NATO’s collective defence. This deal is great news for the UK – boosting NATO security, investing in our world-leading sovereign combat air capability, securing long-term industrial capability and high-value jobs.
