  • Hi everyone! Tania Stone CertRDB (Operations Manager in Disputes) and Samantha Brewington (Senior Recruiter) here. Just popping in to celebrate the success of Monzo Women's Network’s inaugural "Building Confidence & Resilience" workshop last week, connecting women in the London office and virtually. The energy was fantastic and we couldn't be happier with the turnout. The wonderful Lauren Paton designed & delivered the content brilliantly. And our own Lauretta Asak, Sapphire Wilson & Nicola O Brien shared their inspirational career journeys. We had over 80 attendees and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive ♥️ We’re proud to work at a company that empowers us to create impact and change, and this event was the ideal way to celebrate the close of Women in Business Month. The workshop covered: - What Confidence is (and what it isn't) - Where doubt really comes from - Building the evidence to show women their strengths - Rewiring the "I'm not ready belief" Special shoutout to Laura McCrory and Duygu Yenidogan, our Women's Network Co-Chairs, for giving us the freedom to bring this event together! ℹ️ The Women's Network at Monzo (a volunteer group within Monzo focused on creating a safe place for female employees) was created to foster a culture of connection and belonging through a powerful community of women and allies that uplifts, inspires and advocates for every woman at Monzo. A huge thank you to everyone who joined us, we hope you had a magical day.

  • DIFFERENT TYPES OF PEOPLE AT THE OFFICE CHRISTMAS PARTY: - The glam one: they’re sparkling so hard it’s making everyone around them jealous - The one that just wants to go home: they’re lurking by the door and waiting for everyone to be distracted before they slip out - The party pooper: they’re telling everyone within earshot about their cat’s IBS - The professional dancer: they’re showing off their moves in an almost violent fashion - The food one: they’re setting up camp next to all the festive snacks - The Greg: they’re singing karaoke loudly in the corner

  • Hi, Jen here from Monzo’s LGBTQ+ Committee 👋 Just popping by with a behind-the-scenes look at our 2025 Pride celebrations. Being an inclusive, accepting bank is a year-round commitment. But in summer we go big to celebrate our LGBTQ+ staff, customers, and community. We celebrate pride in lots of ways to make sure everyone feels like they belong. Here are some of the highlights! Cardiff Pride 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 For the sixth year, we marched proudly through the streets of Cardiff. We joined our staff along with family, friends, partners and (of course): our Hot Chip mascot. After the march our team also got to enjoy the festival at Cardiff Castle, seeing acts like Ella Henderson and Danny Beard. London Pride 🏳️🌈 This was our second year at London Pride after a short break, and the energy was electric! People travelled from all over the UK to march together and celebrate. This was a moving reminder of the community we’ve built here, while painting the town not only hot coral - but rainbow too. Virtual Pride 💻 We held our biggest-ever Virtual Pride celebration, with over 100 staff members joining us. The brilliant Frankie Heartless (a violinist drag king) performed live, hosted games, and helped us give away some amazing prizes. As well as our high in demand plushie, we had gadgets and gifts from LGBTQ+ businesses up for grabs. LGBTea; Gender Affirming Make-Up Session 💄 Led by Seana Momsen, we hosted one more pride event this year - a gender affirming make-up session…and yet another opportunity to win a prize! For this event, we awarded a polaroid camera, masculine/feminine make-up palettes and vouchers. Seana gave an informative and honest talk, highlighting make-up as a powerful tool for self-expression and affirmation. It was an insightful view into the world of make-up, with some highly appreciated hot tips. What’s Next? 📅 We also marked Disability Pride Month, International Non-Binary People’s Day, and Autistic Pride Day by sharing resources and leading informative discussions. We aim to lead with intention in everything we do. Pride is year-round! We're already planning for next year, by celebrating key dates like Trans Day of Remembrance and LGBTQ+ History Month. Thanks for letting me share our summer; we can’t wait to update you on what’s next for the LGBTQ+ Committee.

  • WINTER AFTERNOONS WORKING FROM HOME - A TYPICAL ROUTINE: - log back on after lunch - realise it’s already dark - put the lamp on - realise it’s still too dark - turn the lamp off - put the big light on - realise the big light is making you look very gaunt - turn the big light off - put the lamp back on - put the Christmas lights on - alternate between turning the lights off and on again until the end of the day

  • THINGS YOU CAN SAY IF YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT TO SAY IN A MEETING: - ”it’s all about finding that balance” - ”just to echo...” (repeat what someone else said) - ”sounds good!” (if people are smiling) - “hmmm” (if people aren’t smiling) - ”are we thinking outside the box though?” - ”everyone’s already covered what I was going to say” - “merry Christmas!” (brings instant cheer)
