Billboard Songwriters & Producers Charts Billboard launched its weekly Songwriters and Producers charts in June 2019, recognizing the creative forces behind the music: the Hot 100 Songwriters and Hot 100 Producers charts, along with genre-specific rankings for country, rock & alternative, R&B/hip-hop, R&B, rap, Latin, Christian, gospel and dance/electronic. The menu of charts has continued to expand, with alternative and hard rock added in 2020, seasonal holiday charts in 2022 and dance/pop in 2025. Each chart is based on the cumulative points that a songwriter or producer earns from songs on its corresponding “Hot” chart. So, for example, Country Songwriters and Country Producers reflect the talents who are contributing to the hits on Hot Country Songs. A songwriter or producer credited on multiple tracks on a given chart will have each song contribute to his or her total on a songwriter or producer ranking. When a song has multiple credited contributors, points are divided equally, resulting in occasional ties on songwriter and producer charts.
