Run an app in my pc from another pc marteken at 23:50 on Thursday, August 09, 2007

Hello,

I want to know if it is possible to run some applications located in my main computer from a website (hosted in that same computer).

Let me explain what I want to do:
We work on home automation projects and we have already great options to control your home remotely. But now we want to create a local webserver hosting a site so that when Im out of my home I can access that site and control my home.

The only thing I must be able to do is to launch bat or exe files that contain codes to perform actions in my home. My idea is to create a website and when I access it it will have a menu for turning on lights, music, etc, but when I press those menus the computer in my home has to actually launch an app located locally in the machine.

Is this possible? What code should I use?

Thanks
Martin
