Set your alarm clock for early Monday morning, as that's when the nominations for the 2026 Golden Globes will be unveiled for film, television, and the brand new Best Podcast category.
If you're already tired of the phrase "Paul Thomas Anderson's One Battle After Another leads the nominations," then it's going to be a long awards season. But that's exactly what Gold Derby expects to happen on Dec. 8, per our predictions data. The quirky film about ex-revolutionaries is tapped to receive a whopping nine bids, which would put it close to the all-time record of 11, held by Nashville (1975).
Other motion pictures that we're predicting will earn impressive nomination tallies include Joachim Trier's Sentimental Value (eight), Chloé Zhao's Hamnet (six), Josh Safdie's Marty Supreme (six), Ryan Coogler's Sinners (five), and Jafar Panahi's It Was Just an Accident (four).
How to watch the Golden Globe nominations announcement.
For television, Gold Derby is predicting that recent Emmy champions Adolescence (Best Limited Series) and The Studio (Best Comedy Series) will each score four nominations, while The Pitt (Best Drama Series) will make due with three. Other shows expected to nab a leading four citations are The Bear, Only Murders in the Building, Severance, and The White Lotus.
Below, see how the final Gold Derby predictions line up in the major Golden Globe categories. Note that we did not include Best Song, Cinematic & Box Office Achievement, or Best Stand-Up Performance in our predictions center.
