The Bold and the Beautiful
Outstanding Lead Actress: Heather Tom (Katie Logan)
Outstanding Lead Actor: Don Diamont (Bill Spencer)Bill attempts to set things straight with Katie, promising he will fight to win back her trust and her heart. Convinced that she deserves a partner who values companionship and connection as much as she does, and realizing she can’t find true happiness with Bill, Katie tells Bill that she cannot give their relationship another chance.
I admire how effortlessly Diamont and Tom balance each other emotionally in their scenes together here. Just beautiful work from the both of them.

Lead Actress in a Drama
Deidre Hall -Marlena Evan’s/SatanHer scenes with those she rose from the dead on Halloween night were somehow over the top yet 100% natural all at the same time.
So far in 2021…Melissa Claire Egan, Nancy Lee Grahn, Cynthia Watros, Laura Wright and Deidre Hall have all given award worthy performances. Hell what a category that would be.
ReplyNovember 2, 2021 at 10:01 am #1204553118^^Yes, we’ve got some very strong performances to choose from! I’d throw Arianne Zucker onto that list as well. The arc of Nicole cheating on Eric, eventually being exposed, and dealing with the aftermath was excellent.
ReplyNovember 2, 2021 at 11:11 am #1204553266My personal picks for Best Actress and Supporting Actress are now Cynthia Watros for lead and Kirsten Storms for supporting albeit Storms has had some lead material but I think for the most part she has been a supporting player in 2021.
ReplyNovember 5, 2021 at 3:24 pm #1204559986I am citing Nicholas Chavez for Younger Performer for his work this past week, particularly his confrontations with Nikolas and his scenes with Trina – a really nice contrast to his work. The scene today where he tells Nikolas he is going to make it on his own was really great work.
ReplyNovember 6, 2021 at 3:12 pm #1204561647^^^ Yes, Nicholas is quite impressive in those scenes (he’s giving me some serious Tom Pelphrey vibes from his debut year on GL). Sydney Mikayla better look out because Nicholas Chavez is coming for that Younger Performer Emmy!
ReplyNovember 17, 2021 at 12:08 pm #1204584447I am citing Lisa LoCicero (Olivia, GH) because she made me cry today when she admitted to Ned that she was scared about Leo’s possible autism. I felt her fear and her love too. The tender reaching out her hand to Ned was a nice touch. Really well played (:

The Bold and the Beautiful
Outstanding Guest Performer: Ted King (Jack Finnegan)
Outstanding Guest Performer: Naomi Matsuda (Li Finnegan)
Outstanding Writing in a Drama SeriesJack admits to Li the details about his past affair with Sheila and his being Finn’s biological father.
Compelling work by both King and Matsuda, but especially King who does such a wonderful job (here and in the episodes leading up to the confession) conveying Jack’s inner turmoil over coming clean with the truth and fear of losing the family he so holds dear. Another well-constructed, moving script by Rex M. Best.
ReplyNovember 18, 2021 at 9:04 am #1204586263^^^I know it’s subjective, but it feels like Ted King (and maybe also Naomi Matsuda, though she’s had less screen time) should be competing in supporting actor rather than guest performer.
ReplyNovember 19, 2021 at 1:06 am #1204588270^^^ Yes, you’re right, a case could be made for either (especially King) to be considered supporting players, and certainly how much screen time each is allotted for the remainder of the year will be a deciding factor. Momentarily (judging by their screen times so far this year, which has been rather limited), I feel like their best placement is in Guest Performer.
ReplyNovember 22, 2021 at 11:36 am #1204595055i am citing Cynthia Watros as Nina on General Hospital for her beautiful performance today as she explains why she lied – just superb work! She and Maurice Benard as Sonny have so much amazing chemistry! Just amazing!
ReplyNovember 30, 2021 at 3:37 am #1204614886I am citing Suzanne Rogers (Maggie) and Eric Martsolf (Brady) for their quiet excellent performances on the Monday, November 29th episode of Days Of Our Lives – Brady ordered a scotch at a bar but hasn’t had an of it yet while he waits for his sponsor, Maggie, to come there after he has called her with an S.O.S. They have a heartfelt talk about the things going on in Brady’s life that has led him to want to drink. Such beautiful work from both of them. I haven’t been liking Brady at all for quite a long time but Eric is capable of really good work when he is given opportunities to shine; Suzanne Rogers is back on the show after a long illness-related absence and she always delivers such wonderful performances, particularly when given great material to act.

Lead Actress
Kelly Monaco as Sam McCall (GH)Sam is reeling from the news of Jason’s death and worries how Danny will handle this. Dante tries to console her.
ReplyDecember 14, 2021 at 10:51 am #1204655255I am citing 3 performances: Alison Sweeney (Dec. 14) for Sami’s heartfelt talk with daughter Allie. It was a very beautiful and controlled performance. Also: Sofia Mattson and Johnny Wactor (Sasha and Brando) for their achingly beautiful performances as they deal with Liam’s health problems. (Dec. 12 & 13).
