24 years ago, I left my hotel room wondering how a pilot could make the same mustake a B-25 pilot made in WWII. I arrived at my appointment and couldn't find anyone. They were all in a lunch room watching the Towers fall. I couldn't fly home so I drove. The roads and sky were empty. Days later,I tried to enlist. They said I was too old. I said I could help train recruiters knowing the world had changed and war was coming. All the branches said I was too old. Now you know why I, with the support of my family, have invited those who serve and have served into our homes. Now you know why R&R exists. I serve those who serve because I couldn't serve. There is pure evil in our world. We see it all too often. The evil people who killed so many on this day 24 years ago swore they would do it again. The evil people who committed atrocities so horrible media outlets cannot show them on October 7th swore the next day and still vow to do it again. How can our collective memories be so short? How can we not have learned? As I type this there are tears in my eyes and a resolve in every cell in my body to never forget. NEVER. Evil cannot be allowed to exist People can disagree. Wars can be fought over our disagreements. That does not make our enemies evil. The culture that created the evil people who caused 9.11 was and is evil. The culture of hamas is evil and is actively creating more evil people. Good people cannot stand quietly by where they see true evil. Every time I walk the hallowed ground of 9.11 I am brought to tears over the loss we suffered that day and continue to suffer today.
