Pomfret School’s VISTA was recognized by CT CMAA - Connecticut Chapter of Construction Management Association of America with a Project Achievement Award in the Best Buildings Project Under $25 Million category! Working with Shawmut Design and Construction on this 22,000 square foot new building, we are proud of this honor for outstanding achievements in construction management. The new three-story Venue for Innovation, Science, Technology, and Academics is sited prominently on the main academic quad of Pomfret’s 500-acre campus, taking full advantage of views to the hillsides beyond. The building includes laboratories and classrooms with open layouts and transparency between academic and collaboration areas, fostering integration with the school community across many disciplines. Clad with regionally sourced metal panels in multi-tone terra cotta colors, VISTA is responsive to the materiality of the surrounding buildings. Broad expanses of glass provide ample daylight in the labs, while sharing interior activities with the campus community. Congratulations to the entire team! Annum is proud of our team’s excellent work on this great project!
Last week, Pomfret School's new Venue for Innovation, Science, Technology, and Academics (VISTA) building was recognized with the Project Achievement Award – Best Buildings Project Under $25 Million from the CT CMAA - Connecticut Chapter of Construction Management Association of America. Designed to advance the school’s commitment to environmental stewardship, the center doubles the footprint of the original building and anchors the 500-acre campus with state-of-the-art labs, open collaboration spaces, and sweeping valley views. With innovation labs, flexible classrooms, and floor-to-ceiling glass, VISTA transforms how students learn, create, and connect. It’s a powerful hub for science, technology, engineering, and design—and an inspiring space for the Pomfret community to dream big and shape what’s next. Congratulations to our project partners, including Annum Architects (Formerly Ann Beha Architects). 🔗 Learn more about the project here: https://lnkd.in/gAyN2Hm4

Annum was thrilled to join the EcoTarium for the Night of the Stars Gala to celebrate the Stoddard Exhibition Hall Grand Opening! Located in Worcester, Massachusetts, the EcoTarium is the second-oldest natural history museum in the United States. Annum’s addition with Timberline Construction Corporation adds 8,300 square feet on top of a wing of an original 1971 Edward Durell Stone building. A 6,300 square foot flexible black box gallery allows the EcoTarium to host a new era of high profile traveling exhibits such as The Secret World of Elephants, opening in March 2026. Annum is proud of our work, in collaboration with Houser Walker Architecture, at Georgia Institute of Technology's Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter School of Public Policy! This renovation preserves one of the most historic buildings on campus while modernizing it for the future. We were thrilled to join the Georgia Tech community in celebrating the recent building dedication honoring the Carters' legacy. Georgia Tech proudly introduces the Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter School of Public Policy, housed in the newly renovated D.M. Smith Building. Honoring the Carters’ lifelong legacy of ethical leadership and public service, the School will inspire future changemakers in the reimagined D.M. Smith Building, transformed for greater accessibility, functionality, and sustainability. In addition, a dogwood tree was planted in their honor to commemorate their impact. Before James Carter Jr. was the 39th U.S. President, he attended Georgia Tech for one year before moving on to the U.S. Naval Academy. 🐝

Winner: 2025 Architectural Record Awards | Performance Spaces category For the Emma Willard School's performing arts center in Troy, New York, Annum Architects (Formerly Ann Beha Architects) adapted a 1910 gymnasium—later turned school chapel—as a 500-seat theater and added an adjacent subterranean wing. The redesign retains the historic building’s structure while refreshing its original detailing—restoring, for instance, leaded-glass windows and replacing the slate roof. Annum removed the ground floor of the chapel to insert space for a stage fly system and to improve sight lines and acoustics. The performance space uses air stratification via an under-floor distribution system, which directs air-conditioning to inhabited areas and lessens energy demand. The new wing houses dance studios, a black-box theater, and an orchestra practice room. The structure is set deep in the landscape, leveraging thermal mass and lowering its overall embodied-carbon footprint. The pleated green roof above offers students an informal open space. The roof is angled to open perimeter clerestory windows, naturally illuminating the studios below. Between the two elements of the project, Annum planted a 6,500-square-foot pollinator garden. The Alice Dodge Wallace ’38 Center for the Performing Arts at Emma Willard School has been recognized in the first-ever Architectural Record Awards as one of the best projects of the year! Through careful craftsmanship, Consigli maintained the 115-year-old Alumnae Chapel’s historic character by restoring its limestone façade, replacing its slate roof and the wood trusses that support its vaulted ceilings, and preserving its stained glass windows and one-of-a-kind baroque organ. Next to the chapel, a new subterranean arts wing – housed beneath an accessible green roof that blends seamlessly into the campus landscape – was created to expand resources for theater, music and dance. Congratulations to the project team on this achievement! Learn more: https://lnkd.in/eWHc7Tet #GenuineBuilders Annum Architects (Formerly Ann Beha Architects) Acentech

The new Bennett-Schmidt Pavilion at the Muskegon Museum of Art is a bridge between the museum’s legacy and its future. Our design team worked closely with Annum Architects to create a cohesive addition that honors the museum’s historic character while introducing new forms and materials that feel contemporary yet timeless. The warm bronze cladding ties the building to the city’s industrial roots, while the glass-filled facades open the museum to the street, extending a welcoming gesture to the City core. Inside, natural light guides visitors through expanded galleries, classrooms, and gathering spaces, creating moments that feel both intimate and monumental. Every design move from the framed views to the soaring ceilings was about making art more accessible, visible, and central to the Muskegon experience. This expansion is about shaping a cultural hub that reflects Muskegon’s resilience, creativity, and spirit of renewal. https://lnkd.in/gyWrVKS6 Lead Architect: Annum Architects (Formerly Ann Beha Architects) Builder: Erhardt Construction Owner's Rep: Construction Simplified Photography: Scott Norsworthy Photography Structural: TYLin #mathisonarchitects
