We’re joining OCEG in thanking Carole Switzer for more than two decades of dedication and leadership🌟. From helping launch OCEG to building a global GRC community, her impact can be felt across the industry. Congratulations, Carole, on a fantastic chapter and all you’ve built. 👏
As the end of the year approaches, I would like to inform all of my contacts and followers that after 23 years with OCEG, I will retire at the end of December. As you might expect, it's a little bittersweet for me. When Scott Mitchell invited me to help him start OCEG, we had no idea it would grow into what it is today. In fact, we initially thought it would be a six-month project to create what we now call the GRC Capability Model. However, the ideas and concepts that we developed with our early collaborators continued to grow and evolve, and we were grateful to see widespread adoption across many organizations of all types and sizes. We continued to move forward as our understanding of the need for the type of guidance and support OCEG could offer deepened. Today, as you are aware, GRC technology and advisory firms are vital contributors to business success. Tens of thousands of GRC professionals have earned OCEG certifications, and many more regularly utilize our standards and resources. Our community continues to grow. Businesses and governmental bodies worldwide follow our guidance and have enhanced their capabilities across all aspects of GRC. Every time we receive positive feedback about these outcomes, I reflect on how a short-term project turned into decades of learning, refining our thinking, and expanding our contributions to the ever-growing movement for improvement in organizational governance. Today, I'm proud to leave OCEG in Scott's hands, along with our stellar team, who will support our members from now on.
