This Veterans Day, we pause to honor the courage, sacrifice, and selflessness of those who have served our nation. Their dedication to protecting and uplifting others reminds us that service takes many forms. At Big Smiles, our teams reflects that same spirit of service in schools every day — bringing dental care to children who might otherwise go without, easing fears, and helping build brighter, healthier futures. To our veterans, and to all who dedicate themselves to serving others — we thank you. Your example inspires us to keep showing up, with compassion and purpose, wherever we’re needed most.

The need is great. The rewards are GREATER.
About us
Big Smiles is the nation’s leading in-school dental program founded more than two decades ago by two moms, who happen to also be dentists. The founders saw a tremendous need among underserved school aged children who did not have easy access to dental care and who often suffered from poor oral hygiene, tooth decay, pain and associated health problems. Knowing that many parents could not take their children to the dentist due to issues including time off from work and transportation challenges, they sought to bring the care to the need. Using the latest technology in portable equipment, a team of dedicated dental professionals provide preventive and restorative dental care to children right at school. Our flexibility and expertise allow us to transform classrooms, auditoriums, gyms or other suitable areas into fully functional dental offices for the day. Every year, through its devoted group of dental professionals, Big Smiles puts happy, healthy smiles on over 500,000 children from coast to coast. Join us in our mission to bring smiles and good oral health to where they are needed. Call or text us at 855-957-4375 or email jobs@mobiledentists.com. You’ll be glad you did.

Big Smiles was proud to participate in the Los Angeles Unified School District Tooth Fairy/5K Move It event! Kudos to our dental team members who helped spread the word about the importance of good dental health as a means to improve overall population health. Getting parents the information they need to help their children get dental care is a critical component of our efforts. https://lnkd.in/g4avE7xA

We're excited to announce ... LA County, Department of Public Health has chosen Big Smiles to provide free oral health screenings for kindergarteners in Los Angeles Unified School District with highest risk of dental disease. The collaboration aims to identify children with untreated dental disease, support caregivers in establishing a dental home for their children, and prepare students for learning and school success, especially those in at-risk communities. Jessica Marn, DDS, Big Smiles California dental director, expressed her excitement for the partnership: “We are thrilled to work alongside the County of Los Angeles, Department of Public Health to provide these essential services to young children. Oral health is a key factor in a child’s overall well-being and academic success. By offering these screenings at school, we are providing a convenient option for parents to meet the requirements that will help their children begin their education on the right foot.” The screenings are estimated to impact 75,000 children over the next two years. In addition to the dental screenings, each child will receive a toothbrush and toothpaste to encourage good oral hygiene practices at home. “This is another level of our long-standing partnership with Big Smiles, a program that has been instrumental in providing essential dental care directly to our students,” said Smita Malhotra, MD, FAAP, chief medical director for Los Angeles Unified School District. “Together we are ensuring that kindergarteners have access to the early oral health screenings they need, removing barriers for families and setting students up for a healthier start to their academic journey. This initiative is a crucial part of our ongoing efforts to support the well-being of every child in our school district.” Big Smiles and its affiliated practices have been providing dental care to underserved children since 1997. Relationships span 8,000 schools and 20 states. “The organization’s expertise in delivering on-site dental services within schools and their capacity make it uniquely positioned to serve this vital health initiative,” said Rita Chen, DDS, program director for the County of Los Angeles, Department of Public Health, Oral Health Program. “By supporting students in communities at the highest risk of dental disease, this contract will increase compliance with the KOHA mandate in our priority schools to address existing oral health disparities.”
