Day 1 of the 2025 OLC Convention & Expo was a tremendous success. From powerful conversations to fresh ideas shaping the future of our field, it was a meaningful start to celebrating 130 years of Ohio library leadership. Day 2 is officially underway and, yes, we’re fully booked! Cleveland is proud to host this year’s OHIO LIBRARY COUNCIL convention at the heart of our city as we honor our past, champion progress, and continue the work of expanding access, equity, and opportunity for all. Here’s to another inspiring day with our colleagues from across the state. 📚💡

We’re so proud to celebrate our partners at Bialosky for receiving an Honor Award at the 2025 AIA Cleveland Design Awards for Cleveland Public Library’s new Glenville Campus. This recognition reflects our shared commitment to creating vibrant, welcoming spaces where learning, creativity, and community thrive. Congratulations to the entire project team and everyone who helped bring this vision to life!
We’re proud to share that Bialosky brought home two awards at last Friday’s AIA Cleveland Design Awards: Honor Award Cleveland Public Library - Glenville Branch & Digital Innovation Center Reimagined as a vibrant community anchor, the Glenville Branch combines bold geometry with welcoming transparency. A folded metal screen, faceted acoustic ceiling, and renewed double-height volume establish a contemporary identity, while new maker spaces and workforce-focused areas expand access to technology, training, and opportunity. Honorable Mention Cuyahoga County Public Library - Brooklyn Branch Situated within Brooklyn’s municipal campus, the new branch takes shape as a bright, pavilion-like structure organized along a central spine. Origami-inspired forms, expansive glazing, and flexible, media-rich spaces support early learning, community gathering, and career development, all centered around a warm, welcoming hearth. Congratulations to our incredible clients and the entire project team whose dedication and collaboration made these recognitions possible!

We're excited to welcome a unique exhibit to our Rice Branch! Roots and Remains: Legacies in the Land runs through May 9, 2026. The project project explores how environmental injustices leave lasting legacies in the places we call home. We invite you to step into a mushROOM 🍄 - a house-shaped recording both made of mycelium, that acts as both a place to listen to stories and add your voice to the conversation. The exhibit was developed by redhouse studio architecture in collaboration with Collective Citizens Organized Against Lead (CCOAL) and My Grow Connect (MGC) and generously funded by Saint Luke's Foundation of Cleveland. https://lnkd.in/gixrsiHA

Still glowing from the Path to Book Joy Reading Conference! It’s hard to believe it’s already been over a week since educators, librarians, and community partners from across Cleveland and Cuyahoga County came together to learn, connect, and celebrate our shared commitment to nurturing a love of reading. As The People’s University, Cleveland Public Library was proud to help lead this collaborative effort—because every child deserves a bright, clear path to book joy, surrounded by caring adults ready to guide and inspire them. Thank you to everyone who joined us to share ideas, energy, and purpose. Together, we’re building a community where every reader’s story begins with possibility. And special thanks to our sponsors for making the day possible! Parker Hannifin, The Bruening Foundation, Thomas H. White Foundation, Cuyahoga Community College, and Lakeshore Learning Materials ❤️

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our table to grab some library swag and hear about our upcoming events! We met a lot of library lovers...even Onion from the Cleveland Guardians hotdog races!
