Our Colliers Project Leaders | USA team is providing project management services for this 94,000 sf, mass timber academic facility designed to foster collaboration, innovation and sustainability. The CSL will unite faculty and students across robotics and fabrication labs, maker spaces, classrooms and a 240-seat auditorium, all connected by a vibrant multi-story commons that encourages daily interaction and idea exchange. Constructed with a mass timber superstructure, the CSL supports UMass Amherst’s Carbon Zero initiative, cutting embodied carbon by 60% and operational energy use by more than 40% compared to conventional academic buildings. The project is also targeting LEED Platinum certification!
