𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗱𝗶𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗷𝗼𝗶𝗻 𝗱𝗯𝘁 𝗟𝗮𝗯𝘀?
I joined dbt Labs because it represents a rare intersection of strong values, open-source impact, and the opportunity to build something meaningful from the ground up. Having spent much of my career in infrastructure engineering and working most recently at companies like GitHub and HashiCorp, both known for their developer focus, transparency, and craftsmanship. dbt Labs felt like a natural next step.
The company’s culture of humility, long-term thinking, and customer empathy deeply resonated with me. Beyond the product and community, what really drew me was the chance to establish and grow a world-class engineering organization in India, one that mirrors dbt Labs’ global standards while leveraging the incredible talent and energy of this region.

What sets dbt Labs apart is its clear vision and deep investment in people. The company hired a site lead first before expanding into India, showing long-term commitment to building world-class engineering here. Leadership has been incredibly supportive throughout, providing resources, mentorship, and genuine partnership in shaping dbt's presence in India.
Beyond culture, dbt Labs offers tangible benefits such as competitive compensation, excellent health coverage, and strong professional development support. Employees are encouraged to learn and grow through conferences, courses, and community contributions.

Joining dbt Labs now, especially in India, is a unique opportunity. As early team members, you'll help build a new chapter and shape the culture, systems, and ways of working for our India organization. This is a rare chance at a company with strong global momentum.
My advice for anyone starting here:
• Work as one team — we succeed through open collaboration and shared goals.
• Have a builder's mindset — take ownership, be curious, and help create systems as we grow.
• Think long-term — focus on durable impact over quick wins.
