Facing the challenge of preserving sensitive historical artifacts, Harris was the selected mechanical contractor for the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center at the National Air and Space Museum. It's been great having you on the team Ethan!
Since starting my internship with Harris in mid-July, I have been working as an Assistant Project Manager Intern in the Rochester, MN Office. I've had the unique opportunity to continue this internship throughout my last senior semester while commuting once a week to attend class in Mankato.Most of my work has been helping with the Unbound Prospect Utility Plant Expansion for Mayo Clinic, along with a few other smaller projects that have taught me a great deal. I'm still working with the team and continuing to grow in this role! I'd like to also say thank you to my mentors, Ben Walston, Ryan Sawinski Joshua Howell and many others at the Rochester Office. Their guidance, patience, and willingness to invest in me and my career has meant a lot! One of the most valuable things they taught me was the importance of the submittal process not just how it works, but why it matters and how it benefits everyone involved throughout the project. Beyond technical skills, they also shared meaningful advice about work-life balance, professional etiquette and having more confidence in myself too. Some of my biggest takeaways I got from this internship was the importance of clear communication, a deeper understanding of project specific documents/documentation and understanding project setup/financial management.
