Honoring our relationship with nature.

About us

Welcome to the heart of Herbs Etc, where every seed, root, leaf, and flower tells a profound story—a story of connection and healing with nature. We believe in the power of plants to heal us in deeply nourishing ways, not just physically, but mentally, emotionally, and spiritually by tuning in to their cycles and rhythms. We believe in reviving our relationship with nature. Here gather the ones who seek to make the unseen seen: those who find beauty in authenticity, who nurture communities with kindness, and who embrace holistic wellness as a path to joy and vitality. Together, we continue a legacy of care for ourselves, each other and the earth for generations to come. We nurture our relationship with nature. We are the caretakers of ancient wisdom, the dreamers who bring ancestral medicine into the modern age, and the bridge between tradition and innovation. By honoring the earth’s gifts with integrity and respect, we give back to the roots that sustain us. We celebrate our relationship with nature. Herbalism is the remedy of the people, and we believe in sharing its knowledge. We are educators, storytellers, guardians of nature, and transmitters of age-old wisdom. We strive to create a legacy of enablement, ensuring that the art of herbalism is passed down and preserved for generations to come. We love to share our relationship with nature. We believe in bringing the healing potential of plants into people’s hands. We are not just creating medicine; we are cultivating deeper relationships with ourselves, the earth, and each other. Through plants, we honor the wisdom of the past, the potential of the present, and the promise of a thriving, regenerative future. At Herbs Etc, we are honoring our relationship with nature and nurturing the future. Together, we heal.

  • 🌿 In our work, even the smallest choices ripple outward. When we pause to examine the routines we’ve inherited, the “standard practices” we rarely question, we often find opportunities to design with more intention. This packaging update is one of those moments: a simple shift that brings our process into closer alignment with the ecological values that guide us. ➡️ This month, we’ve made a meaningful shift: we’re phasing out the heat-shrink plastic film on our softgel bottles. For years, this film provided an extra layer of protection in transit and retail environments. But through evaluation and testing, we realized we could ensure the same safety, quality, and tamper-evidence without it. And considering that we used roughly 127 kg (280 lbs) of this material each year - about 10 km (6.2 miles) of plastic - we knew we had an opportunity to do better. Removing it allows us to: • Reduce unnecessary material waste • Lower resource use and our carbon footprint • Align packaging with our ecological commitments • Increase transparency throughout our seed-to-bottle process Our softgels remain fully sealed, safe, and protected. The only difference is a lighter environmental impact. This adjustment is part of our broader commitment to question inherited industry norms, examine our micro-decisions, and design from intention rather than convenience. We believe these incremental shifts, multiplied over time, contribute to a more regenerative herbal industry. Thank you to our community for supporting this evolution💚 Read more on our blog: https://lnkd.in/eZ6rixeK Dan Coyle Sara Steinbeck Helen Galvin

We’re not really a Black Friday brand. But we are a brand built on accessibility, bringing plant medicine to the people, and caring for the lands and communities that make this work possible. So this season, our Small Roots, Big Impact Sale is our way of doing both. We’re offering 20% off sitewide on orders $90+, plus free shipping with code GRATITUDE20. For each sale, we're donating $3 to United Plant Savers to help protect and replant at-risk native medicinal herbs. A small discount for you. A small donation from us. A big impact for the plants we all care about. Use code GRATITUDE20 https://herbsetc.com/ Dan Coyle Sara Steinbeck Helen Galvin

  • It all begins with a seed, a small miracle that reminds us of life’s quiet brilliance. 🌱 In this short reflection, our former CEO and co-founder, Daniel Gagnon, shares a simple but powerful truth: when we connect with nature, we reconnect with the wonder of life itself. Start with what’s within reach: a small herb garden, a patch of soil, a handful of seeds. Because every time we grow something, we grow with it. And through those small acts of care, we each play a part in shaping a more beautiful, resilient future. 🌸 Sara Steinbeck Dan Coyle Helen Galvin

For our 56th Anniversary, we’re revisiting the roots of herbal medicine and the women who kept its wisdom alive. ✨ Long before the term “witch” was used to inspire fear, it described healers: midwives, herbalists, and caretakers of community health. Their knowledge of plants, fertility, and healing was a form of power, one that challenged the hierarchies of their time. Much of what we know today about herbal remedies, midwifery, and natural healing carries their legacy. What was once persecuted has become a practice of restoration, reconnection, and respect for nature’s intelligence. This Halloween, and our 56th year as herbalists, we honor the wise women, the plant keepers, and all who continue to heal through the Earth’s medicine. Here’s to 56 years of herbal wisdom and the countless generations that made it possible. Our Anniversary Sale (10% off all products) runs through October 31. Sara Steinbeck Dan Coyle Helen Galvin

  • So glad to have shared space with so many incredible herbal folks at the 49th Annual Provender Educational Conference🌿 It was a wonderful opportunity for meaningful conversations, shared wisdom, and heartfelt reminders of why we do what we do, to honor the plants, the people, and the traditions that nurture collective well-being. We left feeling inspired by the passion in our community and grounded in our mission to help others learn and flourish, just as the plants do. Thank you, PROVENDER ALLIANCE, for cultivating such a heartfelt gathering for those of us rooted in natural wellness and conscious business. #HerbsEtc #ProvenderAlliance Sara Steinbeck Dan Coyle Helen Galvin Pablo Restrepo
