Plastics Machinery & Manufacturing captured the successful collaboration between EFFYTEC, Dukane, LDPACK and Hoffer Plastics. Together, we created a solution that enables us to ultrasonically weld spouts to mono-material films into a one-step process that can produce 40 pouches per minute. ♻️ Turning the spouted pouch green: Collaboration powers a breakthrough in recyclable packaging Stand-up pouches have long offered lightweight convenience, but their multilayer films and mixed-material spouts have made recycling nearly impossible. Now, a cross-industry partnership is proving that doesn’t have to be the case. Form-fill-seal machinery maker EFFYTEC USA, working with LDPACK USA, Dukane and Hoffer Plastics, has developed a production-ready pouch that uses mono-material PE film and a dual-sided ultrasonic welding process to create a fully recyclable spouted pouch. The project combined material innovation, machine retrofits and welding precision.
