Over 800 donors came together for Giving Tuesday, and raised more than $500,000 for Homeboy Industries! Because of you, thousands of men and women seeking a new beginning will find hope, job training, mental health support, and a community that believes in their worth. Your generosity sustains the daily work of healing and transformation that happens across our campus — from our classrooms and social enterprises to therapy offices, tattoo removal rooms, and morning meetings where we gather to begin again.

About us
Homeboy Industries mission is to hope, training, and support to formerly gang-involved and previously incarcerated adults and youth, allowing them to redirect their lives and become contributing members of our community. For 30 years, Homeboy Industries has created a therapeutic community that provides the critical support needed for gang members and previously incarcerated individuals to change their lives. This non profit organization has made a singular impact on the Los Angeles community, not only by providing a means for thousands of individuals to support their families, but also by cultivating healing that helps ensure the cycle of violence is broken. More than 300 people each year are employed through job training positions in our downtown Los Angeles headquarters. They learn on-the-job skills in what is often their first “real” job. They are encouraged to use their workday to work on themselves through a variety of free programs and services like mental health therapy, tattoo removal, substance abuse counseling, parenting and financial literacy classes, GED tutoring, solar panel installation training, case management and legal services. Additionally, thousands of L.A. community clients, have access to a segment of our services including employment counseling and tattoo removal. These are all offered free of charge thanks, in large part, to the donations we receive. In addition to being a 501(c)3 not-for-profit, Homeboy Industries operates nearly a dozen social enterprises including: Homegirl Café, Homeboy Bakery, HomeboyFoods.com, Homeboy Diner at L.A. City Hall, Homeboy Gluten-Free Bakery, Homegirl Catering, Homeboy Silkscreen and Embroidery, Homeboy Merchandise and Homeboy Electronics Recycling. We also license the brand for distribution via Retail Grocery and an LAX quick service restaurant.

The Tow Foundation Innovation Fund has selected ten organizations to receive a combined total of $10 million in grants over three years. The funding is focused on expanding access to the care and support for mental health and well-being that youth need to thrive. The 2025 Innovation Fund grantees are: Church World Service Greensboro, Communities for Just Schools Fund (CJSF), Homeboy Industries, Mixteco/Indigena Community Organizing Project (MICOP), Mount Sinai Morningside, Now Matters Now, Nunchi Health, Our Children's Trust, Tapestry Family Services, and Wellness Workforce. Amid rising rates of mental health challenges among young people and reports of difficulty accessing support and care, the Foundation has committed to investing in organizations driving innovative ideas and solutions to the crisis. “We designed the 2025 Innovation Fund to advance new solutions to unmet mental health challenges faced by young people,” said Frank Tow, chair of the Innovation Fund Committee and board member of The Tow Foundation. “These ten organizations stood out for their creativity, credibility, and commitment to young people.” “Congratulations to the 2025 Innovation Fund awardees. We are proud to partner with ten organizations that are imagining, creating, and expanding access to services that promote well-being,” said Emily Tow, President of The Tow Foundation.

Damien Guerrero walked through our doors looking for a change. Through our 18-month reentry program, he completed rehab and is now 5 years sober! Damien shared with us that he didn't grow up with a family, but walking through our doors, the Homeboy community embraced him and he gained a family here. Now, he has graduated high school and has found a new career at Homeboy Puppy Fades. Way to go Damien! Your support has directly impacted the lives of many, including Damien. Thank you for standing with us at the margins. https://lnkd.in/dHF9rHsM
