The best lessons are not always learned in a classroom or taught by adults... Last weekend, my son and I rode our dirt bikes up to the top of a mountain. As soon as we reached our destination, I was already saying, “Great—let’s head to the next spot.” He looked at me and said, “We rode all the way up here… it’s beautiful. Why don’t we take a moment to enjoy it?” That simple reminder stopped me in my tracks. It was a lesson in presence. In our careers, goals, and lives, it’s easy to rush from one milestone to the next without pausing to appreciate how far we’ve come. Sometimes the most powerful growth happens not in moving forward, but in being still—soaking in the view, the effort, and the moment. Grateful for the reminder from my son: don’t just climb mountains, remember to enjoy the summit.
