Jefferson Center is excited to announce Kristen Thome, MA, LCSW, as our new Deputy Chief Clinical Officer! She is an accomplished behavioral health leader with nearly 20 years of experience in clinical care, operations, and large-scale program implementation. Kristen holds advanced degrees from the University of Chicago and Northwestern University, and has held leadership roles where she drove innovation in care coordination, digital health delivery, and operational strategy. Passionate about expanding access to high-quality behavioral health services, Kristen is recognized for her strategic leadership, collaborative approach, and commitment to advancing mental health as an essential part of overall well-being. Kristen is dedicated to making a meaningful impact in her community and supporting the mission of community mental health.

Celebrate Hope and Creativity in Jefferson County Rise Above Colorado is returning to Jefferson County for a special Fill Your World with Good poster workshop. Join us on Tuesday December 9 from 4 to 5:30 PM as we celebrate the HOPE mural created with local youth, Jeffco Communities That Care, and Jefferson Center. Come visit the mural at Jefferson Center, create your own Fill Your World with Good poster, and help design a piece of a brand new mural that will be unveiled at next year’s Rise Above Colorado celebration. This week, Jefferson Center hosted an Afternoon Tea in honor of Trans Day of Resilience at Lady Justice Brewing Company. Community members, allies, and advocates came together to recognize the strength, courage, and stories of transgender individuals in our community. During the event, local trans voices were lifted and celebrated. We honored individuals who continue to challenge stigma, advocate for visibility, and push for a world where everyone can live with dignity and safety. Attendees shared conversation, joy, and connection while building a supportive space rooted in belonging. Creating events like this matters. Trans community members still face discrimination, mental health challenges, and barriers to care at disproportionately high rates. Healing and resilience grow stronger when community is present, seen, and supported. We are committed to holding spaces where stories are honored and where every identity is welcomed as valuable and respected.
