"God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble." - Psalm 46:1 As we enter the first Sabbath of the month, let us remember to trust in God's strength and security. In the midst of challenges and uncertainties, it's comforting to know that we can always take refuge in God.🤍

Dr. Mark Reeves, director of Loma Linda University Cancer Center, says “we’re right in the middle of a turning point” for cancer research. Pancreatic cancer can be a silent killer, advancing before a person may even feel symptoms. Patients can benefit from advanced treatments typically found only at large national cancer centers. These options allow physicians to treat pancreatic cancer with greater precision, fewer side effects, and more personalized care. The Cancer Center’s ongoing treatment of cancer with proton therapy for 35+ years has allowed for the combination of surgery and protein radiation in ways that other cancer centers cannot. 👉 Read more: https://bit.ly/3KAKknc

When we think of sugar, our mind may go to dessert or drinks. But foods like ketchup, white bread, or cereal can sneak it in at alarming amounts. Cardiologist Dr. Megan Pelter is helping our community understand the impact of excessive sugar intake. She explains that our bodies weren’t designed to process the high levels of added sugar many Americans consume. ❌ The result: elevated triglycerides, reduced good cholesterol, and a higher risk of heart disease. By educating patients and empowering healthier choices, physicians like Dr. Pelter are strengthening the long-term health of our community. Learn more ⤵️

How lucky are we to have stumbled upon Arnie’s music! If you’ve passed through the lobby of the Dennis and Carol Troesh Medical Campus, you may have seen him at the piano if he's not treating patients as an occupational therapist. Arnie embodies the heart of Corinthians 15:58, reminding us that “your labor in the Lord is not in vain.” We are deeply grateful for the way his gift creates a space where healing feels just a little more possible.

As we gather to celebrate 111 years later, we’re grateful for God’s many blessings and for the continued privilege of serving our community. Wishing you a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Young non-smokers are increasingly being diagnosed, and Mirshahidi explains this is largely due to factors like genetics, air pollution, and radon exposure. 🔗 Learn more about the risks and symptoms here ➡️ https://bit.ly/3LZlm1d
