📣 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗣𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝗹𝗲𝗿𝘁 📣 Recently published in the International Journal of Spine Surgery: A Comprehensive Review and Meta-Analysis Reinforcing the Clinical and Mechanistic Evidence behind Restorative Neurostimulation for Mechanical Chronic Low Back Pain. This meta-analysis marks an important synthesis of data across 650 patients from 6 studies and highlights durable improvements that exceed MCID thresholds at both 1 and 4 years: ➤ 𝗣𝗮𝗶𝗻: Mean reduction of 3.2 at 1 year and 4.1 at 4 years ➤ 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: Improved by 16.8 at 1 year and 22.7 at 4 years ➤ 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲: Improved by 0.200 at 1 year and 0.251 at 4 years In addition, this publication highlights the recognition of multifidus dysfunction as a distinct diagnosis (ICD-10 code M62.85) – an important shift in understanding mechanical CLBP and guiding subsequent treatment approaches. “Evidence from RCTs, longitudinal cohorts, and real-world registries consistently demonstrates that restorative neurostimulation provides durable improvements in pain, disability (ODI), and quality of life (EQ-5D). Benefits appear early and increase over time, with greater efficacy observed at 4 years than at 1 year.” -Bess et al.
