If you’re not running through your close checklist locked inside your home office, you’ll never be a CFO. 2/ Using anything other than spreadsheets: If you can't navigate excel with only a keyboard, and recreate the same reports you did last month in <5 days, then you were not built for this job. 3/ Work harder not smarter: Transactions should only be categorized manually, and the only time you should leverage AI is to write corporate linkedin posts. 4/ Visibility is key: If you’re not opening a separate tab to see into each entity, then how do you expect to know everything about your different business units? 5/ Be a team player: Get in the weeds. Every 10-20 years, change occurs in ERP. In the late 90s NetSuite and Intacct broke barriers and disrupted a rigid and expensive on-premise industry.
