This year, the DHS has spent millions of taxpayer dollars to run TV ads and recruit new ICE officers, making them the largest TV ad spenders in the country. With aggressive ICE & DHS recruitment happening nationwide, our team decided it was time to take action. Middle Seat developed an emotional and powerful new ad targeted at ICE agents, border patrol, or anyone thinking about going to a recruitment center — as well as their families. We’re airing it across TV and digital in key ICE recruitment zones. When Zohran Mamdani hit his campaign spending cap, his team was locked into their existing budget — unable to raise or spend additional dollars in the final stretch, even as outside money flooded the airwaves against him. That’s when an independent expenditure stepped in, and Middle Seat got to work. We produced and ran a multi-platform persuasion campaign — broadcast TV, CTV, social, and even taxi ads — designed to reach overlooked but critical voters. Our creative focused especially on older Black and Latino men, and testing showed real movement: gains for Zohran, losses for his Cuomo. This win belongs to Zohran, his campaign, and the movement behind it.
