  • The holiday season has arrived, bringing with it a surge in online activity. At the MRCCAC, we believe it is crucial to educate the children in our lives on how to navigate the internet safely and securely. This time of year, often sees a spike in internet use, as kids are more likely to be online during their school vacations, either for entertainment, communication, or research. To address this important issue, we have teamed up with @cj.pageantcoachllc to provide some valuable advice on how young individuals can protect themselves while surfing the web. It's essential to share these guidelines to raise awareness and ensure the safety of the children around us. 🔴 Do NOT share personal information 🔴 If it's too good to be true then do NOT believe it 🔴 Do not believe a stranger online even when offering you any type of gift or money 🔴 Block & Report any unsafe and uncomfortable online users 🔴 Don't be afraid to tell a trusted adult if something makes you feel uncomfortable online #SafetyTipsTuesday #OnlineSafety #Awareness #AbusePrevention

  • The MRCCAC was proud to announce DJ Austin as Board Member of The Year at Wine Women & Shoes 2025. By trade, DJ is a landman, a career she has pursued with diligence for more than 16 years. Since arriving in Midland from East Texas in 2016, she has established herself not only in her profession but also as a champion of the Midland Rape Crisis and Children’s Advocacy Center. Her journey with the Center began in 2017, when a dear friend and long-time board member enlisted her to volunteer at Wine Women, & Shoes. Captivated by the mission and inspired by the work she witnessed, DJ formally joined the Board in 2019, where she has since served with both wisdom and heart. When asked her favorite part of service, DJ speaks not of titles or accolades, but of the moments she sees lives transformed, the hope instilled in survivors, the awareness spread across the community, and the privilege of working alongside the extraordinary staff at MRCCAC. We thank DJ for her commitment and service in supporting the MRCCAC. #boardmember #support #ThankfulThursday
