In the NICU, perspective is everything—and Lizzie brings it. Lizzie, RN, has been with Saint Alphonsus since 2022, serving in Nampa and Boise. She currently works in the NICU and also serves as the NICU Family Support Program Coordinator in partnership with the March of Dimes. But her journey began in 2021 as a nursing student during a preceptorship that sparked a lifelong passion for neonatal care. “As a NICU nurse, my day-to-day responsibilities center around providing specialized, compassionate care for critically ill and premature newborns,” she shared. “I continuously monitor each infant’s vital signs, oxygen levels, and overall condition, ensuring early recognition of any changes that require intervention.” Her approach to care is deeply personal. “My own experience as a NICU parent is forever burned into my memory, and it gives me a deep, personal understanding of what the families I support are going through. I’ve been in their shoes, and that perspective drives the empathy, patience, and connection I bring to my work every day.” And she knows she’s never alone in this work. “I would be nothing without the incredible team that surrounds me. My fellow NICU nurses and our respiratory therapists have shaped me into the RN I am today through their mentorship, teamwork, and constant encouragement. The collaboration and trust we share make even the hardest shifts manageable.” Whether it’s a fragile newborn or a worried parent, Lizzie shows up with sharp skills, clear communication, and unwavering compassion, because that’s what meaningful care demands. The Festival of Trees is more than a celebration. It is a lifeline. With the help of our community, volunteers, and sponsors, each year the Festival of Trees supports advancements to meet the growing healthcare needs of our community. Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the U.S., and this year's 41st annual celebration benefitted the Saint Alphonsus Heart Institute, helping bring advanced cardiovascular care to our patients in Idaho and the region. Every gift through the Festival will fuel life-saving technology, advanced imaging, research, training, and scholarships to keep care close to home. Whether you joined us for the Gala, General Exhibition, or Fashion Show, thanks to your support, we’re bringing lifesaving therapies closer to home, because where you live shouldn’t determine if you live. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Bea Black for her extraordinary service and leadership. Bea has been a steadfast and longtime supporter of our hospital, serving as a board member for both our health system and Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center. Recently honored with the 2025 Stimpson Award for Civic Engagement by the City Club of Boise, Bea exemplifies what it means to build a stronger, more compassionate community. As CEO of the Women’s and Children’s Alliance (WCA) for 17 years, Bea led transformative initiatives—expanding shelter capacity, establishing an endowment fund of more than $3.5 million, and raising awareness about domestic abuse and sexual assault across Idaho. Thank you, Bea, for your tireless commitment to healing, dignity, and resilience. Your impact will be felt for generations.
