About us

Staples Construction Company, Inc. is a licensed California general contracting corporation that specializes in commercial and industrial construction projects, ranging in size from small interior tenant improvements to multi-million dollar concrete tilt-up commercial office buildings and large distribution centers. Since the inception of Staples Construction Company in 1995, we have expanded our corporate headquarters in Ventura and added regional offices in Sacramento County, Monterey County, and the Bay Area. Staples Construction has developed a strong network in the construction industry and has successfully completed many regional and nationwide construction projects. The majority of our work consists of building relationships with Owners through negotiated projects using the Design-Build method of project delivery. Our strength also lies in providing clients with expertise in Construction Management and General Contracting services. Throughout our company's development, we have adhered to one professional policy, which embraces four precepts: personal service, technical competence, budgetary discipline, and timely completion. The purpose of this policy is to achieve maximum client satisfaction.

  • This month’s winning photos highlight the essential repairs and seasonal prep that mark the start of summer across our projects. Tyler captured the finished plaque at the Veterans Memorial in San Mateo—completed just in time for the holiday and ready to welcome visitors year-round. Armin showcased ongoing repairs at a women’s shelter preparing for new residents. Michael’s photo highlights the newly installed transformer and switchgear that is ready to get utilities up and running for the Monterey County Sheriff Department’s Re-Entry Resource Center and Greg’s shows the new epoxy flooring at the Pinole Public Safety Building that is ready to withstand the warm temperature fluctuations. Our teams are making sure every detail is in place as we head into the summer season!

  • In April, our photo contest winners gave us a gritty, ground-level look at the effort and precision it takes to bring our projects to life. From framing to pouring to smoothing the final surface, our teams captured the many forms of concrete work that lay the literal foundation for everything that follows. Whether it was a complex slab pour or tight-detail finishing work, the photos reflected both craftsmanship and teamwork in action. Our demolition team also earned recognition this month, giving us a clear look at what it takes to strip a structure back to the studs and prepare it for transformation. It’s a reminder that progress doesn’t always start with building up — sometimes, it starts with breaking things down the right way.

  • As we recognize our March photo contest winners, we’re highlighting the wide range of environments our teams work in — from the highly technical to the wide open. This month, we revisited the 2-million-gallon tank that was drained in February — this time capturing the inside view as crews worked to clean out debris and prepare it for reactivation. Seeing the scale from the inside underscores just how massive the job really is. We also showcased the precision required in our hospital environments, where inspections happen under the strictest protocols to ensure safety and long-term performance. And with spring fully underway, our teams on outdoor projects captured some great moments as they prepare for seasonal use. The playground at Vista Campanario is ready for kids to make memories, and Bubbling Springs Park is open and welcoming to the warm-weather crowds. From industrial tanks to pediatric play areas, our teams bring the same level of care, quality, and attention to detail.

  • Let’s take a moment to recognize the winners of our February photo contest. These standout shots capture the range, skill, and dedication behind the work including a finished goat pen for UC Davis’ Department of Animal Sciences, now home to some very content four-legged residents, the installation of 100-foot light poles at UC Davis’ Phil Swimley Baseball Field, enabling the team to host night games at home for the first time in school history, and the range of our teams’ logistical challenge from draining a 2-million-gallon water tank to intricate ceiling detail work. Thank you to the team members who continue to share the craft, challenges, and milestones of every project.
