Tectonic Engineering Consultants, Geologists & Land Surveyors, D.P.C. is proud to be part of the team overseeing this project. Our team of engineers led the review of the steel erection plan for the new Bridge 1818 over I-91, ensuring every detail aligned with the project’s aggressive timeline. To meet the schedule, the team convened a focused workshop to, finalizing all logistics ahead of the evening schedule selection, a proactive step that kept the project on track!
Most people only see a highway that "just works." They don't see what happens overnight when lanes shut down, detours go up, and crews are racing the clock before morning traffic hits. On this operation, O&G MPT crews had to keep motorists moving while 117-foot bridge girders were moved through the interchange and set in place for steel erection-a tight window, active highways, and zero room for error. Haven Steel, supported by Smedley Co, rigged, swung, and installed the new Bridge 1818 girders over I-91 Northbound and Southbound, while O&G carpenters followed close behind with underdecking and overhang brackets to set up the bridge deck. Through careful planning, precise coordination, and a hard 6:00 AM deadline to reopen the highways, the team got every worker, crane, and truck off the road safely—so drivers woke up to business as usual.
