This week, I had the privilege of touring the newly completed Region III Training Academy alongside Major Christopher Reyes and Captain Tonja Gilliard from the TDCJ Training and Leader Development Division. My sincere thanks to the academy staff, whose dedication ensures our correctional professionals are well-trained in core competencies, safety practices, standards compliance, and operational excellence across all Region III facilities. I also want to extend my appreciation to the TDCJ Facilities Division for their oversight, persistence, and hard work in bringing this academy site back online. Their efforts directly support our mission and strengthen the future of our workforce.
