  • Toyota Celebrates a Milestone with an Open House at Our First U.S. Battery Plant in Liberty, NC! ⚡️🔋 Last month, we proudly hosted an open house at our groundbreaking 1,850-acre facility in Liberty, NC, the only Toyota battery plant outside Japan. This location is expected to create over 5,000 jobs and establish a new North American epicenter for lithium-ion battery assembly. With seven million square feet of space, the facility is already strengthening the U.S. supply chain by shipping HEV modules to Toyota Kentucky and Mazda Toyota Manufacturing in Alabama. Backed by nearly $60 billion invested in U.S. manufacturing, this plant's activities will result in a staggering 30 GWh annually to fuel a cleaner, greener future. • At Toyota North Carolina, our engineering roles are not just jobs; they are opportunities to be a key player in the electric hybrid battery space. Quality Engineer Tony G. is thrilled to utilize his passion to help drive our mission forward. “The work I’m doing is directly related to ensuring the quality of Toyota’s electrified vehicles, and I’m proud to provide whatever support I can. As a “data guy”, I was pretty awestruck the first time I saw a map of the various databases in our system. The amount of data captured for every module we produce is amazing, and I look forward to helping mine that data for valuable information to make batteries that are safer, higher quality, and lower cost.” His advice for those interested in an Engineering career with Toyota? “This environment can be challenging, but it also offers exceptional opportunities for career growth”. • Toyota North Carolina is proud to contribute to the future of renewable energy with hybrid batteries that pioneer new technology and manufacturing processes. Embracing opportunities to contribute to these important initiatives, Manager Luisa E. enjoys working with such leading-edge tools. “I had the opportunity to join a Japan trip in 2023 to learn more about batteries from our mother lines, and I was so amazed by the advancement in technology and the level of precision it takes to make the best quality batteries. I’m excited to be part of a project that has such incredible leaders and engineers that are committed to work as one team and build the best quality product.” This #ToyotaTechTuesday, the spotlight is on batteries and how they’ve enhanced our ability to stay charged and ready to work in myriad ways both personally and professionally.
