We Turn Vacant Spaces Into Artist Spaces.
About us
At Zero Empty Spaces, we are dedicated to transforming vacant commercial real estate into working artist studios that serve as vibrant hubs for creativity and community engagement. We activate these spaces where artists can create and collaborate at an affordable price while having the ability to be discovered and sell artwork out of their studio. Our innovative approach addresses the challenge of urban blight and retail vacancies by temporarily occupying unused spaces until permanent tenants are secured by property owners. Through this model, we breathe fresh life into new and neglected areas, fostering artistic expression and economic revitalization. All with the goal of expanding the appreciation of various genres of visual art and helping to create a thriving cultural community in more cities across the world.

We love hosting these inspirational talks in our studios! RSVP for the next one - https://lnkd.in/ekyG7J-d
“I wanted to build something that everyone could participate in. Something that made impact possible for all of us.” – Daniel Gupta @dsavvyg In this moment from November’s #CreativeZenTalk, Daniel shares the honest truth behind launching a nonprofit with no prior experience. What began as an idea to sell his personal art collection quickly evolved into a larger vision: reimagining how donated art can create scalable, meaningful impact. Daniel breaks down a startling reality — museums only showcase five to ten percent of their collections, leaving more than 100 million donated works locked in vaults. Through the International Art Project Foundation, he’s building a new model where that art does something: clean water systems, high-impact infrastructure, and projects that change the lives of thousands at a time. For more information on the @international.art.project Log on to https://lnkd.in/g7icibxf Thank you to everyone who joined us this month. Let’s keep the momentum going. We gather every 2nd Friday morning for stories that move us and a community that grows with intention. Join us next month as Timothy Mark Davis of @NewCityPlayers shares his journey on Friday, December 12th. What an incredible evening at Breakthrough T1D Southern Florida Rockin’ to a Cure. Our Zero Empty Spaces artists at our Design Center of the Americas (DCOTA) location led by resident artist Jamie Lapidus of @lapidusartdesigns, showcased a stunning collection of original works created specifically to support the mission to cure Type 1 #diabetes (aka #T1D). This cause has special meaning as our co-founder Evan Snow is T1D. Seeing these pieces displayed and celebrated in such a powerful setting was truly meaningful. The event at DAER Nightclub brought together an inspiring community fueled by creativity, generosity, and hope. From the live entertainment to the heartfelt stories and the excitement around the auction, the night was a reminder of what can happen when people come together with purpose. We’re grateful to everyone who showed up, supported, bid, and helped shine a light on the importance of Breakthrough T1D’s work. Proud of our artists, proud of our community, and proud to stand behind a cause that matters to so many. Do you have a nonprofit that you'd like to collaborate with? Zero Empty Spaces reposted this
Proud to share I recently sat down with the Hustle+Heart:Conversations with Culture Creators Podcast for a deep dive into how Zero Empty Spaces has been transforming vacant commercial properties into active creative hubs for more than six years. We talked about the real work behind activating empty space, what it takes to build trust with owners and developers, and why affordable studios are a catalyst for community, culture, and economic vitality. It’s a conversation about possibility. How cities can rethink vacancy. How artists thrive when given space. How small pilots turn into long-term impact. And why this model continues to scale. If you’re in commercial real estate, economic development, or the creative economy, I think you’ll find real value in this one. On the latest episode of the #ZeroEmptySpacesPodcast, our #GulfstreamPark #ResidentArtist Christian Charles @christiancharles_art breaks down the heart of his current style and why he calls it funk art. He talks about absorbing the spirit of the late twentieth century and how the civil rights era shaped the music, culture, and creative energy that he pulls from today. From James Brown to Sly Stone, he shares how the soul of Black culture moves through his work and why he even grew his sideburns in tribute. He also opens up about the visual influences shaping his compositions. Jacob Lawrence has been a major guidepost for him. Christian has spent time studying master works, dissecting the zigzags, the color choices, the way movement flows through a figure or even the smoke from a cigarette. Those subtle decisions are now becoming part of his own visual language. This clip captures the evolution of an emerging Miami artist who is blending history, culture, music, and fine art into a style that is fully his own. If you enjoy learning about emerging voices, contemporary painting, and the importance of cultivating space for artists to grow, this episode is a strong one. Grateful to John D'Angelo of the National League of Cities and April Capone, MBA of the National Apartment Association (Naahq) for the invitation + opportunity to join this important discussion on Creative Revivals: Transforming Vacant Spaces into Vibrant Places. As cities across the country continue facing the challenge of activating underutilized properties, we’re glad to share how Zero Empty Spaces has been helping communities unlock real economic and social impact through creative #placemaking. By giving artists affordable space to create, showcase, and sell their work, we’ve generated more than $1.4 million in direct economic impact — and when you factor in the NEA’s 9:1 creative economy multiplier, that impact extends well beyond $10 million across the local communities we serve. You're invited to watch the replay with the link below to hear how this model creates win-win outcomes for artists, developers, and cities alike: 🎥 Creative Revivals: Transforming Vacant Spaces into Vibrant Places - https://lnkd.in/e3qpyw_i #CreativePlacemaking #ZeroEmptySpaces #ArtsAndEconomicDevelopment #VacancyActivation #NationalLeagueOfCities #CommunityRevitalization #CreativeEconomy

Thank you Jackie Awve for sharing and your support!
I came across a CBRE piece about Sydney’s creative economy, and it hit on something that feels universal. It reminded me of what Zero Empty Spaces is doing right here. Filling vacant space with creativity isn’t just about art—it’s strategy. It activates properties, brings people together, and builds community. Culture isn’t a placeholder—it’s value creation. https://lnkd.in/eENWWm-x
